new-junk:
Review & photos by: Hannah Cole.
Unsure of where exactly Brighton’s Concorde 2 was located, it was with sheer delight and hilarity that the infamous ‘Captain Caveman’ yell greeted my ears walking down the sea front, assuring me that I was most definitely in the right place and that the UK’s favourite ghost with the most was currently inside sound checking.
Local act Orestea...

Live: Carcer City + The Charm The Fury @ The Peel,...
new-junk:
Review by: Wil Collins.
Photos by: Hannah Cole.
The November and mid-December period signals the end of yet another year and usually with that, comes the winding down of the bigger shows and tours until the new year repeats the cycle for smaller and more established bands alike. Having an event on the same night as both Miss May I and For Today’s visits to London was always going...

Band Of The Week: The Witch Was Right.
new-junk:
Feature by: Hannah Cole.
This week I chose a little band by the name of The Witch Was Right for our band of the week feature, I’ve heard the name flying around for a good few months now but it was not until just a few days ago that I took the time to actually check out what all the fuss is about and fell completely head over heels in love with them.

Live: Dead Harts @ Plan B - Moscow, Russia 26/9/12
new-junk:
Review by: Olga Polomoshnova.
Foreign bands who come to play in Russia at early stages of their careers deserve total respect and a medal for courage. Nowadays Russian audiences are not the ones to be lured to a gig with a poster saying UK next to a band name they are not aware of. However, this is a certain road to missing out some rad outfits on the verge of their breakthrough....

Show time...
new-junk:
So the time is finally here for us to launch NEWJUNK.CO.UK.
New Junk is formed mostly of ex-contributors of Hevypetal.com, for many of us this was our first time contributing to a site and for others it was one of many, regardless of which it was, without Hevypetal most of us would not have received the opportunities that we did. When we were told that the site would be going on...
